What data I process and why

Last updated: 29 September 2026

This policy explains plainly which personal data I process when you visit borderpets.com, write to me, book a call or receive an email from me, and what your rights are. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018 apply.

1. Controller

Pedro Dimas Molinero-Rosales Martínez, trading as Borderpets. 87 Threadneedle Road, Salthill, Galway, H91 F9W4, Ireland. Contact: pedro@borderpets.com.

2. What I process, why, and on what basis

If you visit the website

This site uses no cookies. On the private report pages (borderpets.com/a/…) a cookie-free visit counter (GoatCounter) records only which page was opened and when, without storing the IP address or identifying anyone, so we know whether the report was read. The hosting provider (Netlify) technically and temporarily logs the IP address and request data needed to serve and protect the page, on the basis of my legitimate interest in keeping the site running and secure.

If you email me

I process your name, email address and whatever you tell me, in order to reply and, where relevant, prepare a proposal. Basis: pre-contractual steps at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or legitimate interest in handling enquiries.

If you book a call

Booking runs through Cal.com. I process your name, email, your store URL, the platform you use and any notes you add, to prepare the call (including reviewing your public catalogue) and hold it. Basis: pre-contractual steps at your request. The video call runs on Cal Video and is not recorded.

If you receive a prospecting email

I write to online pet-accessory stores that may be interested in my services. I use only professional contact details published by the business itself on its website (usually a generic address such as info@…) and public data from its catalogue. I do not buy lists and I do not send bulk mail. Basis: legitimate interest in offering services to businesses in the sector (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Every email says who I am, where I got the address and how to opt out. If you reply "unsubscribe", I will not write again and I keep your address only on a suppression list to honour that choice.

If you are a client

I process the contact details of the people at the client business and the data needed for invoicing. Basis: performance of the contract and legal (tax and accounting) obligations. The catalogue-rewriting service does not involve personal data of your end customers; if a future service required it, we would sign a data processing agreement first.

3. Who I share data with

I do not sell or pass on data. The following providers process data on my behalf, as processors, because I need them to work:

Where a provider is outside the European Economic Area, the transfer relies on standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission or on an adequacy decision.

4. How long I keep data

5. Your rights

You can ask me for access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction, object to processing (in particular to prospecting, at any time) and receive your data in a portable format. Write to pedro@borderpets.com; I reply within one month at most. If you think I have not handled your data correctly, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland or to the supervisory authority of your own country.

6. Other things worth knowing

I make no automated decisions with legal effects on you. This site is not aimed at minors. If I change this policy, I will publish the new version here with its date.
